Mornington, 19th April, 1888
In expressing my opinion on the points raised by Lord Derby in his confidential Circular of 10th February 1888, I presume that I am right in considering only those points as far as they concern this Colony.
2. The Attorney General in this Colony receives a salary of $14,800 a year, equivalent at the present moment to £868 sterling. For this he gives only his services generally.
I made the following corrections: 1. Corrected "Cuck" to "Cook" (likely OCR error). 2. Rejoined broken sentences. 3. Corrected "Corrsid" to "considering" (likely OCR error). 4. Corrected "Colvery" to "Colony" (likely OCR error). 5. Corrected "Oolony" to "Colony" (likely OCR error). 6. Corrected "ab" to "at" (likely OCR error). 7.
